Lynn Goodwin Receives John Clover Off-Campus Advisor of the Year Award
Community Connections Coordinator, Lynn Goodwin, was the recipient of the John Clover Off-Campus Advisor of the Year Award at the Miami University Student Life Center Engagement, Activities, and Leadership awards ceremony on Sunday. Over 600 student organizations were represented at the awards ceremony!
Lynn was nominated for the John Clover Off-Campus Advisor of the Year by the Best Buddies Ohio Miami University Oxford Chapter President, Caroline Sanford, and Vice President Beth Sopp for the phenomenal work Lynn has done as a Best Buddies Host Site Coordinator.
“Lynn is dedicated to Best Buddies and wants to help whenever she can,” Caroline and Beth said. “For example, Lynn helped us do our buddy matches this past Fall, which involved spending three hours in Armstrong on a Monday night. It was very beneficial to have Lynn there as she knows more about our community members, as she works with them outside of Best Buddies. With her guidance, we were able to create over 100 one-to-one buddy matches this past Fall! Lynn is also responsible for our chapter’s growth in the past year, as we previously only had about 50 matches, and due to her advertising, she was able to include more community members, which allowed us to grow to the size we are now!”
Lynn said Best Buddies is such a wonderful program and touches the lives of so many.
“I am blessed to help lead the Miami University chapter,” Lynn said. “Receiving this special award is a truly meaningful moment for me. I’m grateful for the recognition and for the opportunity to contribute in a way that matters. Working alongside individuals with disabilities has been one of the most meaningful and enriching experiences of my life. Their strength, determination, and unique perspectives inspire me every day. This recognition also belongs to the incredible college students who selflessly volunteer their time, energy, and compassion to support this program. Their dedication is at the heart of its success. Thank you for this honor; it deepens my commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and empowering every voice.”
We are so unbelievably proud of you, Lynn! This is such a huge honor and shows how dedicated you are to the Best Buddies program and the Butler County DD community!
