FSS

The Family Support Services Program provides financial assistance to enhance an individual’s independence and community involvement. An individual must be eligible and enrolled in County Board Services to access the funds. Individuals that receive waiver or individual budget funds are not eligible.

Butler County families are allocated $1500 for each qualifying family member for 2023. This does not mean that Family Support Services Program (FSSP) has these funds set aside, or guaranteed, for each individual. Funds may be exhausted within a program year and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. All requests must meet an assessed need and may require Verification of Need (VON) by a qualified professional/specialist currently working with the individual requesting assistance. Pre-approval is required for all items/services requested prior to ordering/purchasing.

All items/services requested must meet an assessed need related to the individual’s disability. Items often requested are adaptive equipment, therapy/counseling, special dietary items, technology, and educational programs/training specific to a disability.
