Morgan appointed to state wide Advocacy board

Morgan Gattermeyer has been chosen to serve on the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council, a state-wide advocacy group aimed to create change that improves independence, productivity, and inclusion for people with developmental disabilities and their families in community life. The Ohio DD Council is one of a national network of state councils, committed to self-determination and community inclusion.

The Ohio DD Council advocates for people with disabilities, initiates programs that enrich lives, and educates about disability rights and the importance of self-determination. Gattermeyer is one of 30 members appointed by Gov. John Kasich for a two year term ending in 2020. She will serve alongside other advocates and members of Council who are family members or guardians of loved ones who have a developmental disability.

β€œOn behalf of the people we serve, our staff and Board members, we congratulate Morgan on this vital leadership opportunity in the State of Ohio. She will serve as an advocate for people in Butler County, our region, and across the state. Morgan was persistent in her pursuit of this opportunity and I know our community will benefit from her leadership,” said Lisa Guliano, Superintendent, Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Morgan is a member of SpeakUp, our local group of self advocates.
