Hamilton, Ohio – The Fitton Center wrapped up its on-site Christmas programming for the year with its partners from the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The two teamed up to offer a free sensory-friendly screening of the 1994 Tim Allen holiday comedy, The Santa Clause, Wednesday, Dec. 13.
Santa, Mrs. Claus and several more holiday helpers greeted nearly 100 guests as they arrived at the Fitton Center. Those guests then filled the theater with laughter, singing, applause, and more than a few people quoting along line for line.

The two organizations first teamed up for sensory-friendly screenings in 2018 and offered a lead-into-summer showing of Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo earlier this year in June.
“The Fitton Center is for everyone,” said Executive Director Ian MacKenzie-Thurley. “It’s for the entire community. We want everyone and their families to always feel welcome and be a part of what we’re doing. This is an important piece of our mission to build community excellence through the arts.”
The film screening capped a successful run of holiday programming that also included River City Puppets with Gingerbread Jamboree Dec. 1 for Fitton Family Fridays, Miami University music professor Ben Smolder presenting the The Joy of Christmas Dec. 6 at Celebrating Self and Just Vince and the Fellas bringing the house down with Motown & More Christmas Dec. 9 in the Showstoppers series.
Next up, we're going off site for a taproom takeover and ugly sweater party fundraiser Thursday December 14 at Hamilton's newest brewery, Third Eye Brewing Company.
