Transportation
Transportation services and supports shall be operated and provided consistent with state and federal statues and rules governing operation of respective Board programs. The transportation service (contracted agency and/or the BCBDD) compliance will ensure the planning, administration, and implementation of transportation and options reinforcing availability, safety, and identification of individual needs based on the individual planning process.
Transportation provided by agencies contracting with BCBDD will comply with all relevant Transportation Rules of State of Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities contained in 5123:2-1-03 and relevant sections of the Ohio Revised Code. The agencies contracted to provide BCBDD transportation will comply with the above standards as detailed in their policy and procedure manuals. The agency will also be required to complete and return the required documentation.
Under Non-Medical Transportation rules, individuals enrolled for the Adult Array have a free choice of provider for non-medical transportation to and from the adult program that they choose. This is noted in their Plan. The amount allotted for transportation shall comply with state rules on non-medical transportation.
The Board operates and maintains a fleet of vehicles. The mechanics servicing the vehicles operated by the Butler County Board of DD have multiple years of experience. The mechanics also are responsible for servicing the additional vans and trucks on a routine maintenance schedule.
Close collaboration occurs between all Board Programs and transportation staff to assure reliable, safe and efficient service.
