Catholic Residential Services provides support to 36 individuals and has been providing services for the last 15 years.

Direct Service Staff Information
Catholic Residential Services employs 60 direct staff full-time employees. The majority of staff have an average length of services of one to three years. The average turnover rate is 10 percent. Employees are given pay in the range of $9 to $12 an hour, and are offered benefits. Standard requirements for all direct service staff include a background check, a nurse aid registry check, an abuser registry check, and a FBI background check. Staff are given, on average, 15-20 hours of in-service trainings each year. When recruiting staff, the agency looks for people who sincerely care for individuals with disabilities. They hire warm, outgoing, skilled Direct Support Professionals and Home Coordinators. They strive for all Home Coordinators to have a two-year college degree. Direct Support Professionals are required to have a high school diploma or GED. All staff are required to pass criminal background checks and to complete a drug screen test and TB screen prior to starting work. If staff use their personal vehicle for transporting clients, proof of a current driver's license, appropriate insurance, and a good driving record is required. The agency annually, and as needed, completes or upgrades employee background checks. Staff must also complete an initial orientation including specific training on the needs of each individual they work with. First aid, CPR, and Medication Administration training is also provided. Annually, staff receive further training in order to keep current with new developments in the field of residential services and disabilities.

Certification
Catholic Residential Services has four homes that are licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. The agency is certified as a supported living provider, an individual options waiver services provider, and a transportation provider for supported living. The agency has an internal quality assurance program called Quality Enhancement. This program is a system where health, safety, and other quality factors are reviewed on a quarterly basis. The agency is audited annually by an independent auditor. Individual finances are audited every 60 days where appropriate.
