Emergencies
During regular work hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), call (513) 867-5600 or
(800) 874-0268 for assistance with a crisis or emergency involving an individual with MR/DD.
The Board of DD also maintains an after-hours on-call system for reporting incidents of abuse/neglect and for crisis intervention. A crisis is a situation that jeopardizes the health or safety of an individual with DD and requires immediate intervention. From 4:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and holidays, call (513) 867-5913.
Support Coordinators are available to assist individuals and families through times of crisis. An on call system allows individuals to access 24 hour emergency assistance for housing, medical, and psychiatric needs.
Each family's needs are very different, and what may be a "crisis" to one family may not be a crisis to another family. Despite different needs, our staff is well trained to handle emergency situations and give families the support they need at the time.
