The Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities serves about 2,200 infants, children and adults. The agency has one early childhood center, one adult center and four community team offices located throughout the county. 76 percent of the agency’s operating budget of $27 million comes from local tax levies. Federal funds make up 16 percent of funding, state funds make up 6 percent and 2 percent comes from other local funds. A seven-member board oversees the agency. Five are appointed by the Butler County Commissioners and two are appointed by the county’s probate court judge. The board holds meetings monthly.
