The Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities serves about 2,200 infants, children and adults. The agency has one early childhood center, three adult centers and four community team offices located throughout the county. 73 percent of the agency’s operating budget of $26 million comes from local tax levies. Federal funds make up 20 percent of funding, state funds make up 5 percent and 2 percent comes from other local funds. A seven-member board oversees the agency. Five are appointed by the Butler County Commissioners and two are appointed by the county’s probate court judge. The board holds meetings monthly.
