Celebrating 50 Years of Support

Finances

The Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities operates on a $28 million budget.

QUICK FACTS:

75 percent of the Board's total budget comes from a tax levy. The Board was last on the ballot for a replacement levy in 2004.

Our Board has operated with 3 mills of taxpayer funds for 30 years.

In the last five years, the Board has brought more than $250 million into Butler County from services provided or purchased.

For every $4 the Board spends of local tax dollars, $6 in federal funds are used to provide services so people with disabilities are able to live, work and lead meaningful lives in Butler County.

In 2016, the Board used carryover reserves to cover the difference between revenues and expenditures. In the Expenditures graph below, "other" represents costs of administration, maintenance and operation of facilities.
